UHH2
Overview
The University of Hertfordshire’s 2008 entry into the Class 1(A) Formula Student Event is an evolution of the hydrogen powered vehicle demonstrated at the 2007 competition. The team behind UHH2 has taken on this concept and using the experience gained has developed a new vehicle, powered by a 250cc hydrogen burning internal combustion engine (ICE). All hydrogen gas that UHH2 will consume and burn during testing, development and competition will be provided by Green Gases. The hydrogen is produced using methane from anaerobic digestion to power an electrolyser – eliminating the need for fossil fuels, making this a truly renewable source of alternative energy.
