UH Racing are pleased to announce that Rye House Kart Raceway will be re-partnering with the team, to assist with media demonstrations and in light track testing.
Rye House Kart Raceway is based in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire and is the team’s local kart track. Rye House has partnered the team before, appearing in UH Racing’s 2011 promotional video.
“We are delighted to help UH Racing as they’re our most local university, some of our members of staff are actually students there.” Said Circuit Manager Ryan Musk,
“Formula Student is an excellent proving ground for aspiring engineers.
“In much the same way that we nurture young drivers at the track, it’s important to give the engineers that will be working with these young drivers in the future the same sort of nurturing.” Ryan continued.
Rye House is the same track where three time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton started his racing career and is regarded by BBC Sport’s David Coulthard, among others, as “the Silverstone of karting,” owing to it being one of the oldest and most prestigious karting tracks in the UK.
“The opportunity to use a facility such as Rye House is great for the team.” Team Leader Thomas Minto commented,
“It allows us to train our drivers, to try and get them used to driving a formula student car.
“It will also help the team to bond together when we go karting.” Minto added
Rye House Kart Raceway are a great addition to UH Racing’s current line-up of partners and the team are looking forward to working with them on future projects.
